Energy efficiency and sustainability
Energy is a basic element for productivity; so, when seeking a viable and sustainable solution, the proposal is achieving an efficient use of this resource. Therefore, we join the economic growth of the country providing the electricity required by households, business and industry under a sustainable approach that allows for ensuring the protection of natural resources for future generations.
Energy efficiency and the rational use of electricity must not be seen only as supporting the global initiative to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, but also as an effective measure to achieve a reduction in the expenses associated to energy consumption. This reduction will translate into a reduction in household expenses of and in greater competitiveness for companies.
To achieve this, we provide training, information and advice on a permanent basis, we strengthen our technological tools to assist our customers and count on permanent programs aimed at creating a culture of responsible and safe use of electrical energy among the new generations.
EnergíaMágica (Magic Energy) Program
In order to create a culture of awareness about the valuable resource that is electrical energy, since 2007 we implement our EnergíaMágica program, where we have provided education to thousands of children on the safe and efficient use of electrical energy .
EnergíaMágica in numbers:
- 671,297 children received education from 2007 to date.
- Children receiving education during 2023: 36,853.
Training on energy efficiency
Training for large customers
From 2013 to this date, we have trained more than 460 people from 240 companies and institutions through 16 courses, with support from Universidad Centroamericana José Simeón Cañas (UCA). Our large customers are benefitted by our training on industrial energy efficiency, whose content has been prepared by AES El Salvador and the Department of Energy and Fluid Sciences of the university.
Manual on Residential and Commercial Energy Efficiency
This manual introduces the subjects of energy sciences in a very concise and accessible manner for the reader, based on its basic theory and emphasizing their relationship with electricity consumption. In that sense, the document is practically a training manual that strengthens the technical capacity of those studying it and putting it into practice.
Iluminando tu economía (Illuminating your economy)
“Iluminando tu economía” is a commitment to the development and strengthening of the culture of energy efficiency and savings in industry and in Salvadoran households. It provides useful tips to the population on how to achieve high energy efficiency, which can be applied in sectors such as households and commerce.
