Located in the municipality of Armenia in the department of Sonsonate, Opico Power is our most recent commitment to contribute to the generation of clean and non-polluting energy based on solar sources. Inaugurated in 2020, it counts on 12,834 last-generation photovoltaic modules, spread over an area of 50 thousand square meters, where they receive sunlight and transform it into electricity. The plant is equipped with 24 inverters that convert that direct current electricity into low-voltage alternate current that is later sent to a substation and injected directly into the distribution network.
Opico Power generates 5.2 megawatts (MWp) and will contribute every year to prevent the emission into the atmosphere of 2,371 tons of CO2, joining the commitments of AES El Salvador to contribute to the energy and environmental sustainability of the country.
