  • The improvement of the electrical networks will not only provide a more stable and secure supply, but also benefit families economically and socially.

AES CLESA, a company of AES El Salvador, executed 11 Third Party Line Standardization (NLT) projects with the objective of improving electrical infrastructure in various rural communities in the western part of the country.

More than 500 households in the departments of Sonsonate, Santa Ana, and La Libertad benefited from the new electrical installations. One of those families is Nicolas', a farmer who lives in the hamlet of El Amatal, district of Acajutla, Sonsonate.

Nicolás, after the recent completion of the standardization projects in his community, decided to take an important step for the well-being of his family: remodeling his house and installing a modern electrical system. For years, nights in his home had been marked by the flickering light of candles and flashlights.

Now, with the peace of mind of having a constant electricity supply, Nicolás set out to improve every corner of his home, from the installation of safe lights in all rooms to the connection of new appliances that would make daily tasks easier. With this change, Nicolás' family not only found greater comfort but also renewed hope for their future and the drive to continue prospering.

The line standardization projects involve the replacement of old, inadequate, and deteriorated electrical installations built by uncertified individuals with new and modern energy networks that comply with the technical regulations of the General Superintendence of Electricity and Telecommunications (SIGET).

In 2024, the electric company has invested $2.4 million in Third-Party Line Standardization projects across the country. These initiatives are part of AES El Salvador's commitment, and its distribution companies, to promote progress and quality of life in vulnerable areas by providing access to safe and constant energy services, thereby fostering community development.
